About

Stephen grew up and attended high school in Pomona, California.  He came to California Lutheran College in the fall of 1973.  He ran cross-county and track for four years and graduated in 1977 the holder of eight school records.  He was inducted in the CLU Sports Hall of fame in 2019.  Steve raced successfully for 25 after college and also is a member of the Ventura County Sport Hall of Fame.  Steve taught for 25 years at Buena and Foothill High schools in Ventura and coached cross-county and track at Buena for 22 years.  Steve served 12 years as the teachers' union president in Ventura and 12 years on the Ventura County Community College Board of Trustees.  He was on the California Community League's State Board for six years.  He has been a practicing attorney doing mostly criminal law since 2006.  Steve has taught Education Law at CLU since 2013 and was awarded the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2019.
