Convocator Scholarship

The Convocator Scholarship is made possible by the generosity of donors who deeply value religious faith.  It is given to those students who demonstrate the principles of Cal Lutheran's mission, thereby exhibiting confidence in their identity and vocation. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded each year. 

Scholarship Details

  • Amount: $2500
  • Scholarship will be automatically awarded in subsequent years of enrollment
  • Recipients of the Convocator Nomination Scholarship who are eligible for other Cal Lutheran academic scholarships are able to receive both scholarships during the academic year as long as all combined aid does not exceed the total costs of tuition and fees.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Admitted to Cal Lutheran
  • Must be nominated by a Convocator
  • First-year or transfer traditional undergraduate students 
  • Enrolled full-time (12+ units per semester)
  • Active participants and leaders within their and the Convocators’ respective faith community

Timeline

  1. Student Requests Nomination
    The student asks a convocator to be nominated for the Convocator Scholarship.

  2. Convocator Submits Nomination
    The convocator completes and submits the online nomination form.

  3. Scholarship Review
    The nomination is reviewed to confirm eligibility and approval.

  4. Scholarship Reflected in Financial Aid Offer
    If approved, the Convocator Scholarship will appear in the student’s official financial aid offer once it is issued.

Application Process For Students

If you are interested in receiving the Convocator Scholarship for the upcoming academic year, you can request to have a Convocator contact you and your pastor or religious leader. 

Important Dates:

  • February 15th: Priority deadline to submit your Request for a Convocator Contact form
  • March 1st: We encourage submitting your application by March 1st for priority consideration

Application Process For Convocators

Convocators can nominate prospective students from within their faith communities prior to a student's admittance to the university for the upcoming academic year. Convocators may not nominate family members.
