Accommodations

Travel and Lodging and Meals

Travel and accommodations must be arranged by the participants themselves. Below you find important information about options for ground transportation. The local committee is here to help you, don't hestitate to be in contact!

Travel

The best airport for international travel is Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Domestic flights and connections may also use Burbank (BUR), or perhaps the most charming of them all, Santa Barbara (SBA), which are both about an hour from campus (depending on traffic).

Airport transfers (by shuttle or rideshare) must be organized by the participants themselves; Lyft and Uber are easy - and inexpensive - to arrange per travellers' schedules. There are local shuttle companies to consider, e.g. https://www.shuttletolax.com/. Another  is http://www.rrshuttle.com (although Covid-19 may have caused difficulty with this company, worth checking though).  Rental cars are readily available at LAX and BUR. Parking is easy on campus and in Thousand Oaks. Domestically, Greyhound (bus) and Amtrak (train) are also economical options.

It is recommended that congress participants try to connect with another traveller for an efficient shared transportation. If there is need, it is also possible for some scheduled group transportations from and to the airport to be arranged with the help of the local committee. If you are interested in this option, please contact Steve Herder pastorsteve@alcto.org and Kirsi Stjerna kstjerna@plts.edu.

Meals

See the welcome email sent on 6/20/22 from CLU.

Each evening a reception is offered, with food and beverages. In addition to that, dinner and beverage options include local restaurants, near your hotels, or in town.

Lunch is available daily at campus dining hall, as well as at other establishments on or around campus.

If you have pre-purchased meal tickets, you will get them when on campus. If you did not pre-purchase but would like to eat at the campus dining hall, you can buy tickets during the congress at the registration desk  (open sunday 4-6pm, monday, tuesday, thursday, friday 9-11-11:30 at Samuelson chapel,). This is not your only option. You can also find lunch from other campus offerings, or near by establishments, with cash or credit card (e.g. Jamba Juice, Habit Burger, Starbucks on campus).

Each morning and afternoon coffee break includes snacks.
