Providing Aids and Services
We recognize and value diversity in our campus community and are committed to providing equal access and opportunities to qualified students with various disabilities.
We provide comprehensive services in a manner that promotes respect and self-advocacy. In addition, we comply with university policy, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disability Act of 1990 with its amendments of 2008.
If you are a student needing to request accommodations, please register with us. We can discuss your disability-related requests for aids and services.
Students with a medical or disability need to request an exemption from wearing a face covering on campus, should first contact Health Services at (805) 493-3955 to discuss their needs. Health Services will determine if there is need for the exemption. Students with the exemption from Health Services will be directed to contact Disability Support Services to discuss potential, individualized accommodations.
With the continued impact of the pandemic, and the need to start the Spring 2021 semester/term virtually, we want to assure you that approved accommodations for students with disabilities will still be delivered. There may need to be some modifications to those accommodation to make them appropriate for online study. Students or faculty with specific questions or concerns should feel free to contact Disability Support Services at firstname.lastname@example.org 805-493-3464. All efforts will be made to ensure a timely transition for any necessary modifications. Decisions for modifications will be made on a case-by-case basis. We appreciate your understanding.
