It wasn’t my senior year of college and we were having our first track meeting of the year. As the captain, I say right in the middle, excited for my last season. Athletes filed in one by one most whom I ready knew, but one athlete in particular caught my eye. During the meeting, that same individual slid over to the open seat next to me and as soon as the meeting finished, he introduced himself and handed me my phone saying “I figured it’s a good idea to have the captains number.” We started dating a few weeks after, supporting each other though our shared major and on the team.
