The Cal Lutheran Alumni Board of Directors Awards Program recognizes the outstanding achievements of California Lutheran University alumni. Nominations for awards in the five categories listed below are welcomed from all members and friends of the Cal Lutheran community.

James Gulbranson
Service to Alma Mater
James, president of Van Nuys Glass Co. Inc., received a bachelor’s in history from CLU. He has supported his alma mater throughout the years with participation on the Alumni Board of Directors (serving immediately after graduation), as alumni chair of California/NOW Radio Chorale, as assistant curator of three art shows at CLU and as chair of the Scandinavian Cultural and Historical Foundation. Jim has also served as chair of the popular Scandinavian Festival at CLU since 1991. His volunteerism goes beyond CLU to serving as president of the San Fernando Valley Historical Society and as a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Rotary Club of San Fernando. Jim states that he has remained involved with his alma mater because he enjoys the people, staff, students and alumni.
