The Cal Lutheran Alumni Board of Directors Awards Program recognizes the outstanding achievements of California Lutheran University alumni. Nominations for awards in the five categories listed below are welcomed from all members and friends of the Cal Lutheran community.

Cindy (Saylor) Sandback
Service to Alma Mater
Cindy earned her B.A. degree in psychology and communication arts in 1980. While a student at Cal Lutheran, Cindy was the vice president of ASCLU and elected to “Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities.” She is currently Vice President, Finance Center Manager for Washington Mutual Bank and is an active member of the Alumni community in the San Diego area.
Upon graduation, Cindy was chosen to be the class representative for her class and four years later was elected to the Alumni Board of Directors.
While on the Board, Cindy became active in Alumni fundraising endeavors and was a member of the Commitment to Leadership Campaign. She served as Phonathon chair in 1983-84 and is a member of the President’s Club.
Cindy serves on the San Diego area Events Committee and is an alumni admission rep in the San Diego area as well. A member of the Alumni Events Committee, she served as its co-chair from 1986-1988. She is also one of the founders an co-chairs of the Class Rep Committee.
