Gather together to honor our history and future.
Each fall, the Cal Lutheran community, alumni, and friends gather for Founders Day Convocation to celebrate the university’s founding and affirm our shared commitment to educating graduates who are called and empowered to serve their neighbors so that all may flourish.
This year, we welcome ELCA Presiding Bishop Emerita Elizabeth Eaton, who will deliver the Founders Day address on Thursday, October 15, at 11:15 a.m. in Samuelson Chapel. She will also present an evening lecture, “The Once and Future Church,” at 5:30 p.m. in Samuelson Chapel, followed by a reception.
Faculty and local clergy are invited to join the procession in academic regalia or vestments, gathering at the Enormous Luther statue at 10:45 a.m. The liturgical color for clergy is white and gold.
