• Founders Day Convocation, Fri., Oct. 19, 10:30-11:30am, Samuelson Chapel.Faculty will wear their regalia and meet at the Luther Statue at 10:15am in order to process. If you rented regalia from the bookstore for Opening Convocation, you can check out this regalia again at no additional cost. If you are teaching during this time, you are welcome to bring your class. The program includes installation of the Board of Regents, guest speaker Jimmy Sweeden '15 and presentation of the Christus Award to Rev. Glen ('86, MDiv '01) and Lauri Egertson, executive directors of Lutheran Retreats, Campus and Conferences. Please RSVP to acaffairs@callutheran.edu so that we can reserve enough pews for faculty in the Chapel. 
   
• Faculty Forum re: Faculty Governance, Mon., Oct. 22, 4-6pm, Swenson 101. Posters about the restructuring are available for viewing and comments in the upstairs Swenson Faculty Lounge. Other related documents can be found on the Task Force: Faculty Governance Blackboard. Items of particular interest, such as digital versions of the old and proposed organizational charts, the proposed Faculty Senate model, and a draft document that lays out the logic and rationale of the restructure can be found under the CLU Data and Responses tab.  The task force also invites faculty to participate in the discussion forums that have been created on the Blackboard page.  For more information, contact Dru Pagliassotti, Faculty Governance Task Force chair, at paglia@callutheran.edu.

• Grantwriting Academy: The Office of Sponsored Research and Projects is presenting a five-part series to help faculty and staff get grants. • Community Leaders Association (CLA) Grant Proposals for Spring '19 awards due Thurs., Nov. 1. The CLA has funds available to support faculty in engaging within the community. Appropriate proposals include cultural events, seminars, outreach efforts, and community-based research. Click here to view a rubric that clarifies selection criteria for this competitive application. Funding is generally provided up to $2,500; to be expended by the following fiscal year end. The proposal request form can be found on the Academic Affairs Grant Funding website under Community Leaders Association Grants. • Traditional Undergraduate (TUG) student registration for Spring 19 will begin on Fri., Nov. 2.  On Tues., Oct. 9, emails were sent to students with their registration appointments (based upon credits completed).  The Spring 19 semester schedule is available on WebAdvisor and Student Planning.
