Enriching the cultural experience for all students
Cultivate. Connect. Empower. Inspire.
The Center for Cultural Engagement and Inclusion is a space for all students to engage, organize and learn about social justice issues. Established in 2018, The Center provides both a physical space and robust programming designed to support and empower students to thrive at Cal Lutheran, with a focus on BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students. Aligned with the University's mission, The Center and its offerings develop CLU students into leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice.
By providing the Cal Lutheran student community with social support, innovative programming, and cultural and social justice education, we:
- Cultivate a welcoming and just campus environment rooted in justice, equity, inclusion and diversity that supports all students in their growth and success.
- Connect - Act as a source of connection, support and community for BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, and students with one or more marginalized identities.
- Empower students with the knowledge, tools, and skills to support and lead positive change related to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity on campus and beyond.
- Inspire students to embrace their identities as sources of strength and discover how they
contribute their individual talents, gifts, and efforts to co-creating a more just
world for all.
Culture & Justice Clubs
Culture & Justice clubs on campus are committed to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion and provide critical sources of support and belonging to marginalized students. These clubs are open to all students for participation and are affiliated with the Center for Cultural Engagament & Inclusion.
