What to Bring

Do you want to know what to bring and what you can leave at home? Below is a basic list of items to help you get started! If there are personal items you wish to bring to make your room more like home please do so. Check out the ways in which you can personalize your space.

For Your Room:
  • Sheets and pillowcases (all beds are twin extra long-­‐80” mattress)
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Bedspread/comforter
  • Fan
  • Desk lamp
  • Wastebasket
  • Plastic bags
  • Pictures or art objects for the wall
  • Clothes hangers
  • Stationary supplies
  • A few plates, mugs, glasses, utensils for snacks
  • First-­‐aid kit
  • Emergency kit (flashlight, drinking water, non-­‐perishable foods)
  • Bulletin/message board
  • Mini fridge 4 cubic feet or smaller
  • Microwave 
Shower Essentials: 
  • Towels
  • Bathrobe
  • Personal care products
  • Soap
  • Toilet paper
  • Bath mat
For Your Laundry:
  • Laundry is included in the cost of your housing! Just head to the laundry room and start washing!
  • Laundry bag/basket
  • Detergent, bleach, softener, stain remover
  • Iron and ironing board
Miscellaneous Items:
  • Umbrella
  • Plants
  • TV (Read about TV requirements)
  • Backpack
  • Bicycle
  • Games
  • Sports equipment
  • Sewing kit
  • Can opener
  • Small rug
  • General cleaning supplies for suite and bathroom
To Leave at Home:

Please do not bring the following items-­‐they are all prohibited in the residence halls without kitchens in the suite:

  • Electric appliances with open coils (including toasters)
  • Halogen lamps or lava lamps (due to fire and safety reason, halogen lamps are not permissible)
  • Pets (other than fish)
  • Candles or incense (no open flames allowed in the residence halls)
  • Extensions cords or 6-­way plugs are not allowed however, surge protectors are permitted
  • Adhesive LED light strips are not allowed as they cause extensive damage to paint and drywall
