Reevaluating the Renaissance: Honor and Violence in Late Medieval Italy

Peter Sposato, an assistant professor of history at Indiana University Kokomo, will present a talk that asks us to think differently about Italy in the late Middle Ages. Was it simply a shimmering golden age of artistic and literary achievement? Or did medieval violence and brutality continue to offer a path for advancement for Italian elites? Join Dr. Sposato as he helps us to reassess this crucial moment in the development of western civilization.

Admission is free.
