I am a Story: Writing Myself into the World

Heidi Durrow speaks on her award-winning books. She will also sign copies of her works in Pearson Library from 2:15 to 3 p.m.

Durrow’s debut novel, The Girl Who Fell From the Sky, was the 2008 winner of the Bellwether Prize for fiction, Barbara Kingsolver’s prize for literary works addressing issues of social justice. The book, now in paperback, was a New York Times bestseller and was named to The Washington Post’s Best Books of 2010. Durrow herself was named one of Ebony magazine's Power 100 and was nominated for a NAACP Image Award. She has worked as a corporate litigator at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and as a life skills trainer to professional athletes of the National Football League and National Basketball Association.
