Entrepreneur Speaker Series

'I don't know' is the beginning of everything

The School of Management Center for Entrepreneurship presents:

Entrepreneur and Cal Lutheran alumna Emily Barany, founder of Visionality Partners and Connectd and co-founder of ThomasFireHelp, is the next presenter in our Entrepreneur Speaker Series.

Barany builds businesses that make the world a better place. She was recently named a Top 40 under 40 Business Leader by the Pacific Coast Business Times. As one of the largest fires in California history raged, she co-founded ThomasFireHelp – a platform that connects help with a need on the grassroots level – much like a Craigslist for recovery. The global need for the platform became so apparent that she launched her fifth company: Connectd, which revolutionizes the way communities recover from disaster. Barany also organized the Montecito Airlift, deploying volunteer pilots to transport cancer patients, critically ill children, surgeons and nurses across the mud when the 101 freeway closed for nearly two weeks. She is a doggie mom and stress baker who also owns Visionality – a consulting firm that handles operations, management, and strategy for growing nonprofits.

In this month’s Entrepreneur Speaker Series lecture, Emily Barany will share her experiences with creating from the ground up knowing:

·      The people you need will show up.

·      Create your future – nobody else will.

·      Don't ask for permission and break some rules.
