“Music of the Spheres: In Memoriam Urmas Sisask (1960-2022)”
Areté Vocal Ensemble
The innovative professional vocal ensemble concludes its 15th season with an eclectic concert featuring the music of Estonian composer Urmas Sisask accompanied by projections of awe-inspiring images from the Hubble Space Telescope.
Sisask, whose musical inspirations came from astronomy, developed theoretical sound values for the rotations and trajectories of the planets in the solar system to create a “planetal scale,” which is the basis for much of his music. Join us as we pay tribute to this fascinating and creative composer.
With a passion for live performance, Areté strives to provide a joyful, moving, educational and soul-nurturing experience. Wyant Morton conducts.
Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 if purchased online in advance.
