How public speaking gives you a bigger forum to do what matters

We have all been affected by the back-to-back tragedies of the past week. If you are currently safe and can attend this event, please do. We will address 'Communicating in an emergency' and 'Making a presentation when you lack confidence' along with many other aspects of public speaking. Event will be held as planned.

In celebration of National Speakers Day, California Lutheran University and Toastmaster International are presenting this free training given by Jim Cathcart, one of the best known and most award-winning motivational speakers in the business.

With over 40 years of professional speaking around the world, Jim Cathcart is one of the best known and most award-winning motivational speakers in the business. He has delivered more than 3,100 presentations to audiences in every state, most provinces of Canada and countries from Scotland to Singapore. He was selected as a 2017 Top 25 Speaker (#9) out of 1,300 speakers in an online survey by Speaking.com with 27,000 people voting in this survey to isolate the Top 25. This is the third year in a row that he has achieved this ranking.

In 2012 he was inducted into the Sales & Marketing Hall of Fame in London, England. This is in addition to his existing Speaker Hall of Fame listing. His TEDx video is in their Top 1percent worldwide with over 1,450,000 views in just under four years (Top 200 out of 101,000 videos).

Cathcart's decade of involvement with Cal Lutheran is evidence of his commitment to helping people succeed. He is a School of Management Advisory Council member and has served as entrepreneur in residence since 2016. A business strategist, psychological researcher and philosopher at heart, Cathcart is also a down-to-earth regular guy. He has worked in warehouses, driven trucks, sold door to door and at trade shows, been a bank teller, plays guitar in night clubs and pubs, and has toured much of the world on a motorcycle.
