Skill Share Workshop: Sewing and Embroidery

You’re invited to the first student-led session of the CEJ's “Skill Sharing Series” which is focusing on sewing and embroidery! Skill sharing is a valuable community building strategy to fill the gaps in our knowledge and skill sets and to inspire us to become more self-reliant.

Sewing and embroidery skills are cool to have generally but they’re also skills to have if you’re especially interested in fashion or textile sustainability. Maybe you’ve got a hole in your favorite pair of pants or a special blanket. Throwing things away should not be our first choice! We will give you the practical basics to be able to patch things up and make cute little felt animals (which also make for good decorations and gifts).

Join us in the CEJ office (SWEN 109/108) on 11/13 from 5:30-7 PM to learn basic sewing and embroidery skills. Materials and light refreshments will be provided. We sincerely hope to see you there! If you’re already skilled with a needle and thread, come to hang out and provide support to learners!
