A Celebration of Black Excellence

A Celebration of Black Excellence
The Celebration of Black Excellence is an annual event hosted by the Community Scholars for Black Lives Fellowship Program during Black History Month. The event is designed to benefit students by providing opportunities to connect with professionals and learn form their journeys, including their education, career experiences, challenges and successes.

Beyond celebration, the event serves as a meaningful networking opportunity. Students are able to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, build connections and explore potential mentorship or career opportunities. By creating space for authentic conversations and community building, the Celebration of Black Excellence fosters empowerment, representation, and pathways to future success.

Guests will include Malcolm Johnson, CEO of Langdon Park Capital, Dr. Jamelle Brown, Urology Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Andrea Johnson, founder and CEO of Mirror Mirror Beauty Center in Los Angeles. These industry leaders will share stories about their career journeys, insights and expertise about their specific fields, and tell how they are using their platforms to give back and make a difference in the community.
