We received great news this year and the clinic received funding for a part-time Assistant Director position! I’m pleased to announce that one of our clinical supervisors, Chris Domasin, was just hired to start in this role. Kim Vallejo, one of the clinic’s administrative assistants, also receive a promotion and is now the Senior Administrative Assistant. We believe that these new roles will aid us in best overseeing the two clinics in Westlake Village and Oxnard.  Our Oxnard clinic is also completing renovations and will allow us to have 4 additional therapy rooms and additional student work space. The clinics also have a new track for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy led by Dr. Ryan Sharma. Clients are now seen in the following tracks: General Clinic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).  Annually, we continue to provide approximately 12,000 sessions and clients typically pay $18 per session. Being able to provide affordable therapy ($18 vs. $150 per sessions) has tremendous economic impact, providing our local communities with an annual savings of $1,584,000 in mental health services. We are proud to provide this support to our local community. In other developments, we are changing our orientation schedule to provide more experiential exercises to trainees and we are ascertaining ways to further enhance multicultural competency for trainees and supervisors at the clinics.
