Multimedia: Digital Cinema Production: "Killer" Kickstarter, Cinema Guild, and 4K Production
Exploring how new distribution channels, crowdsourcing and UHD (4K) production is transforming the movie industry. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Vimeo On-Demand provide fresh opportunities for young filmmakers to share their work as well as a new launching pad for potential startups and production companies, like the recently formed, student run, Meridian Media. While resources such as Kickstarter and IndieGogo enable filmmakers to find the financial backing to make their own movies. Come hear the behind-the-scenes stories and screening of “Killer” the first ever successful CLU Kickstarter movie as well as works-in-progress from the Multimedia HD Digital Cinema department and Digital Cinema Guild.
