Join a distinguished panel of professionals to learn about what defines you as a professional, challenges of the business environment, and first impressions.

If you are a junior or senior, this is a must-attend event, but all students are welcome. Get involved, collaborate with our panelists and engage with one another! Find your path to career success.

Susan Lundeen-Smuck
Human Resource Professional
Chair of the Cal Lutheran Board of Regents

Susan was most recently with Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, where she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, from October 2006 until it was acquired by Allergan in October 2015. Susan was responsible for designing and implementing all people systems supporting the company, from early product development to drug approval and eventual commercial launch. From September 2005 to June 2007, Susan was Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Activus Healthcare Solutions Inc., a healthcare company that was acquired by PSS Inc. Prior to that experience, Susan held various positions at Amgen, including an expatriate assignment to support the build-out of Amgen’s worldwide distribution facility in the Netherlands. She also served as Strategic HR Business Partner for Research & Development, and ultimately served as Senior Director of Human Resources responsible for Strategic Staffing and Succession Planning. Susan received a BA in Psychology and Business Administration from California Lutheran University and currently chairs the university’s Board of Regents.

Sabina Shaikh
Vice President, Worldwide Strategic Alliances
Salesforce

Sabina has driven innovation strategies for Salesforce, Strategic Business Development and Partnership Management for more than 20 years, primarily in the enterprise software industry. She’s responsible for the global relationship with Deloitte Consulting, the world’s largest management consulting firm and leading partner for Salesforce. Shaikh joined Salesforce in August, 2012 from SAP where she spent six years as a senior director for North American Alliance Organization. She was responsible for creating incremental revenue opportunities and developing strategic relationships with Tier 1 System Integration Partners. Previous to SAP, Shaikh worked 12 years at Oracle Corporation as part of a team responsible for incubating and launching emerging solutions, including Mobile, Wireless and Voice. She also served as an account manager driving adoption of solutions in the financial Services Industry. Shaikh currently serves on the Board of Directors for Huckleberry Youth Programs, a nonprofit organization providing services for underserved youth in San Francisco and Marin. Shaikh has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Sue Coakley
Marketing Leader, Acquisition & Retention
Symantec Corp.

Sue leads a global marketing team for Symantec’s Website Security business responsible for driving strategy through execution of programs that acquire, retain, and grow value of customers and partners. She started her marketing career in advertising as an account coordinator at BBDO San Francisco. After the exposure of multiple accounts on the agency side, she transitioned to the client side. She spent over 12 years at Intuit (makers of QuickBooks and TurboTax) in various marketing and policy roles, then seven years at Yahoo! Leading customer contact strategy to deepen user engagement. She joined Symantec in 2013. Enjoying the intersection of the creative and analytical aspects of marketing, she’s focused on direct and digital marketing, leveraging customer insights and analysis to drive increasing results. She occasionally speaks at industry events on topics such as the importance of building relationships with customers, and also enjoyed instructing a couple of sections of Marketing Theory for our MBA students. Sue’s a graduate of Santa Clara University (MBA) and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (Business Administration).
