ABCs of Board Governance

This workshop is open to all nonprofits wanting to better develop their board of directors. People considering board service are also encouraged to attend to learn what is involved in being on a nonprofit board of directors including best practices, trends, important topics to drive board success such as organizations, operations and communication.

Learning objectives:

  • Review the main roles of nonprofit governance
  • Explore the legal duties of a board member
  • Explore current trends in nonprofit board management
  • Reflect on how those roles and duties translate into practice

Audience:  This course is geared toward executive directors, key staff, board chairs, and board officers and members, teams are encouraged to participate as a group.

This workshop is facilitated by Amy Eriksen, executive director for Angels Gate Cultural Center. She has worked in the nonprofit and education sectors for over 25 years and is dedicated to community and collaboration.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is no fee for members, $55 fee for non-members.
