Religion 100: Religion, Identity, and Vocation

Learn more about the Religion 100 class with Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes on the Travel Seminar section of the website.

This course introduces the study of religion beginning with 11 days of travel in San Bernardino and San Diego counties prior to the start of Spring semester. It pursues questions concerning the history, meaning, and interpretation of religious texts and action, and the broader contexts in which religion evolves. Through focused reading and site visits students will explore intersections of religion, environment, civic life, religious diversity, poverty, and immigration. In additional to selective focus on the Christian tradition, this course considers core values of Lutheran higher education such as pluralism, interfaith cooperation, and sustainability. Additional religious traditions may be included.

Deadline to apply is Nov 15, 2017.
