Written Communication, Information Literacy, and Critical Thinking
Collection of data for written communication and critical thinking began in 2000 when undergraduate writing samples were scored using the CLU Writing Assessment Rubric (WAR) and the Critical Thinking Rubric .
The study was expanded in 2006 to include information literacy. The rubric was revised to include information literacy. In 2007 the study included the scoring of graduate papers.
This report represents a chronological history of the development of assessing the WIC student learning outcomes at CLU. Faculty designed the methodology which included double scoring of papers for inter-rater reliability which included a calibration exercise. Data results and analysis throughout 2000 to 2006 are provided.
