Meet the Team

Ever since he experienced how much consumer behavior could be influenced by effective marketing strategy, Kevin was hooked (like, obsessed). Focused on marketing our undergraduate programs, he believes trust in marketers should be earned, not given. And he enjoys being a lifelong learner in working with the continuously changing higher ed marketplace. When he’s not checking the performance of a campaign, he’s following one of his favorite pro sports teams – the Eagles, Lakers, and Dodgers.

As the head of the Marketing & Communications department, Mark leads his team in developing strategies that raise Cal Lutheran’s public profile, and help it meet its enrollment and fundraising goals. Mark spent the first two decades of his career in the performing arts, both in Los Angeles and in New York, before joining the Cal Lutheran staff. He has a Ph.D. in music history from Stony Brook University.

Nadia oversees marketing for the four graduate schools, working on all elements related to bringing in new prospective students via the creation of digital and print ads, various collateral, direct mail and email to support graduate enrollment goals. Her daily ritual begins before dawn when she goes to fitness boot camp to help keep her level-headed with a positive and enthusiastic demeanor throughout the day.

With a background in student success and marketing, Shibumi focuses on creating communication strategies that best serve the incoming student class. Although she received her B.A. in Communication Studies and M.A. in Mass Communication from Cal State Northridge, Shibumi finds herself very at home in the Cal Lutheran community. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, cooking, spending time with friends, and attending stand-up comedy shows.

With a background in interactive design, digital marketing, and analytics, Erik guides the evolution of Cal Lutheran's digital presence and champions the work of the Marketing & Communications team. When not pursuing his other passions of photography and music recording, you'll almost certainly find him hiking the Conejo Valley's beautiful landscapes with his family or tackling Spartan races.

As a former web designer turned project manager, Alisa looked for a core truth—the why—when building a website or planning a project. Now a brand and content strategist, she uses that same approach to uncover the underlying story behind Cal Lutheran's messaging and find the best ways to connect it with prospects and the community. When out of the office, she spends half of her paycheck on books and the rest on traveling.

I graduated from San Jose State University with a graphic design major and a minor in communications. I was also a student athlete and played on the SJSU women’s soccer team. For the past couple of years, I worked as a graphic designer for a digital marketing agency. In my free time, I love playing soccer, listening to music, and playing video games.

After three years of internship at Marketing & Communications, Jee is now a full-time designer here at Cal Lutheran and making her creative marks all around the campus. She strives to create designs that are both informative and inspiring. Her favorite things are beautiful typography, Lord of the Rings trilogy, and golden retrievers.

Linda edits and oversees Cal Lutheran publications that reach our largest external audiences, notably CLU Magazine for alumni and parents and the Cultural Events calendar for community members. She collaborates on other key Cal Lutheran online and print communications to ensure that they have accurate, timely and consistent messaging. 

Sherri enthusiastically combines her experience with 2D and 3D design approaches to create thoughtful and cohesive graphic solutions that define Cal Lutheran’s sense of place and space through print, digital, environmentals, video and photography. Her extensive 20 year background as a designer, art director and manager affords her a unique perspective in managing her creative team. When not observing and contemplating how the human psyche affects design decisions, Sherri relaxes by baking and exploring California’s central coast with her family.

Sharon organizes the five-event Corporate Leaders Breakfast Series; publishes the Weekly, the electronic newsletter for faculty and staff, and Happenings in the Arts, the electronic monthly newsletter highlighting music, theatre, visual and cultural arts presented by Cal Lutheran; and supports budget management.

Christine’s primary focus is to support enrollment marketing initiatives while managing undergraduate and enrollment-related data and marketing campaigns. Christine has always been a data analyst and before she joined California Lutheran University, she worked at both Move, Inc., and Amgen. While she isn't working with data, Christine enjoys camping trips and old school board games with her husband and son, and the family’s favorite place to visit is Kauai, Hawaii for snorkeling, zip lining, and kayaking.

Eric prompts college students to pursue their purpose with thought-provoking web content. Bringing a blended background in student success, marketing, and design, Eric connects educators with their digitally native students by delivering a meaningful web experience. Milestones from his journey include an MS in Counseling & Guidance for College Student Personnel from Cal Lutheran, a Certificate in Digital Marketing from UCSB, and a BA in Geography with Geographic Information Science from UCSB. In his current role, Eric eats Web Cookies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but he also enjoys Vegan Chocolate Chip.
