Senior Degree Audit

For Undergraduate Students

The Senior Degree Audit (SDA) process is an audit of a student’s academic record to ensure that the student is on the right path toward graduation and commencement.

The main purpose of the SDA meeting is to identify remaining degree requirements needed for students to graduate. This entails conducting a senior audit, reviewing all courses taken, determining any outstanding graduation requirements, and adhering to the academic policies stated in the University Catalog such as major/core requirements and limitations of credits. Additionally, students who comeplete the SDA meeting based on the timeline available below will have the opportunity to enroll in classes before registration begins.

What do I need to do?

In order to avoid confusion and frustration, complete the following three steps as soon as possible:

  1. Review Your Senior Audit
Make sure to file your Application for Degree with Academic Services by October 1st to ensure timely processing and to avoid late fees. Senior Audits for students who filed their Applications for Degree after October 1st will be processed in the order they were received.

Carefully review your Senior Audit. Do all the courses you are taking for the Fall semester show up as In Progress? Are the only missing classes or blank spaces the ones you are taking in the Spring semester? Be sure to note the Residency, Upper Division and GPA requirements listed on the program evaluation and My Progess in Student Planning.

If you notice any discrepancies, have any questions or do not receive a Senior Audit, contact Center for Student Success.

  2. Completion of Coursework
Upon completion of your projected last term, traditional students must have completed the minimum 124 credits with at least 40 upper division credits. Remember, your Faculty Mentor, Student Success Counselor and Academic Services are available to assist you, but you are ultimately responsible for making sure you have completed all major and general education degree requirements.

  3. Application for Degree Fee
A $130.00 Application for Degree fee must be paid when you apply for your degree. This amount includes your diploma and first official transcript. There will be a $25 late fee for missing the priority deadline of October 1st for May graduation.
