New Student Seminar

Are you getting ready to begin your studies as an international student at CLU?
We are here for you! Please follow all the three steps provided below!
Important: Completing all the steps will ensure the proper reporting of your F1 status to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
**J1 Exchange students: Please note that the video is relevant to the F1 international student status. You will meet with your OISS J1 advisor and review important information regarding maintaining your J1 status for Step 1.
Step 1. Watch the Pre-Arrival Video
Login with your MyCLU username and pay close attention as you watch the video. You will be asked questions during the International Student Seminar!
Step 2. Complete SEVIS registration
Please complete your mandatory SEVIS registration (F1) or SEVIS Validation (J1) after you arrive in the U.S. and before the first day of orientation. Gather all travel documents in advance: Cal Lutheran I-20 (F1) or DS-2019 (J1), Passport (biographical page), F1 or J1 visa, I-94 and upload them on the OISS Student portal.
Important! Please make sure to complete the Emergency Contact Form available on your OISS Student portal.

Step 3. Attend Orientation and International Student Seminar
Not sure when and where your orientation and seminar days are? Please see the International Student Orientation and Seminar details provided below. Attending both dates of the orientation and seminar are MANDATORY.
Keep in mind that undergraduate students need to attend the Cal Lutheran new student orientation program and graduate students need to refer to their academic program for details about their program orientation.

Open Door Support Session | From 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm | At the Center for Global Engagement, 184 Faculty Street. | Students are encouraged to stop by for help with the SEVIS process, ask questions, or connect with staff for any support they may need.
