Residency Policy

Trinity Laundry Room

At Cal Lutheran, we view living on campus as an important part of a student's complete educational experience.

Full-time students (those who have 12 or more units per semester) enrolled in a traditional undergraduate program are required to live on campus through their Junior year (90 or more units). Senior standing students can still choose to live on campus. All students who live in University housing are making a commitment to abide by campus policies, as outlined in the student handbook.

Exceptions to the policy:

  • Students who are married
  • 23 years of age or older
  • Students living with their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) within 30 miles of the campus

Students may petition the residency requirement after 4 semesters of on-campus living by emailing the Residence Life office to begin the process. The petition request deadline is May 1st for fall semester and November 1st for spring semester. If approved, the $400 housing deposit will be forfeited.
