International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace

The United Nations General Assembly has declared Sept. 21 the International Day of Peace, devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace through observing 24 hours of nonviolence and cease-fire. This year’s theme is “Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals,” which recognizes individual and collective responsibility to foster peace.

The community is invited to join Campus Ministry and the Center for Global Engagement during chapel service to reflect and pray for peace, followed by a minute of silence and a rededication ceremony in front of the Peace Pole in the rose garden near the chapel.
