Santa Lucia Celebration of Lights

Santa Lucia Celebration of Lights

Why is an Italian saint from the fourth century adored by Scandinavians? Come to the Celebration of Lights to find the answer.

The Scandinavian American Cultural and Historical Foundation will host an evening of candlelight, music, teachings and traditional food. Santa Lucia will be wearing a white gown with a red sash and a wreath of candles on her head as she leads a procession of singers, each holding a candle. Her arrival is a symbol of light, hope and charity.

The celebration is free and open to the public.
