Major gift fundraising has the power to elevate your organization. Engaging donors who have the ability to support your organization at a meaningful level remains the most impactful fundraising strategy you can employ. And yet, with everything on your plate - it’s hard to know where to start. Join us in this workshop to build a major gifts “recipe” that works for you and your team. This workshop is for nonprofit professionals, executive directors, development directors and board members who are ready to take their major donor program to the next level.
Through this workshop, participants will:
- Develop an understanding of how to build an effective fundraising program that focuses on building a sustainable major gifts pipeline of individual donors
- Learn how build fundraising momentum and sustainability through the integration of these fundraising activities into their core mission-related programs and activities
- Learn how to identify, engage and solicit potential donors through authentic relationship building
- Develop an understanding of the value of a culture of philanthropy and how to integrate that culture into your organizational culture
- Understand how to speak effectively about your organization’s fundraising and learn how to coach your board and leadership to become effective fundraising ambassadors
Faculty
Cassie Carter
Cassie Carter brings 30 years of passion and experience in the nonprofit and higher education sectors to her work at Campbell & Company. Cassie focuses on developing a shared understanding with clients of the opportunities and strengths of their organizations and how those can be leveraged to achieve a high level of long-term fundraising success.
Prior to joining Campbell & Company, Cassie held significant leadership positions in several prominent academic institutions and nonprofits throughout the country as they grew their fundraising programs; she was Associate Vice President for Development and Director of Campaigns at Hawaii Pacific University, Associate Vice President for Development Operations and Director of Advancement for the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, and Executive Director of the Montana Outdoor Science School. She also taught life science at Santa Monica College for many years.
Cassie has long been dedicated to the nonprofit sector. She served as the Director of Programs for Heal the Bay in Santa Monica and volunteers as a board member of several nonprofit organizations throughout Hawaii, Montana and California. Currently she serves on the board of directors for the Pierce College Foundation and the Community Foundation of the Valleys.
Cassie holds a doctoral degree in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis on science education and public administration from the University of Southern California, a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University-Northridge, and an associate of arts from Los Angeles Pierce College.
Adriana Lopez
Born and raised in Southern California, Adriana has dedicated her entire career to nonprofits and fundraising. Before joining Campbell & Company, she built extensive experience in individual giving, relationship building, development communications, campaign strategy, and project management working at organizations across Los Angeles County. She’s learned that fundraising is the perfect mix of both art and science, and she brings this passion, perspective, and tangible experience to every client engagement.
Adriana has managed development activities across multiple revenue streams, including annual giving, events, major gifts, and grants. At Campbell & Company, Adriana has partnered with organizations of all sizes nationwide, including projects in campaign planning, development assessments, strategic planning, fundraising counsel, and training and workshops. She takes pride in helping organizations solve problems, think big, and strengthen their fundraising capacity. Known for her collaborative approach, Adriana listens first, then works in partnership with teams of all sizes and levels.
Beyond consulting, Adriana is a certified yoga instructor who creates welcoming spaces for adults to explore yoga, especially those who may feel the practice isn’t for them. She brings the same values of accessibility, care, and empowerment to her yoga teaching as she does to her nonprofit work.
Adriana holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy with a minor in Business from Northwestern University. She lives in Southern California with her fiancé and three cats: Lola, Luna, and Penny.
