Morning Glory recognized by NCTE
The 2025 edition of the English Department’s Morning Glory Magazine (Vol. 54) has received an “Excellent” designation from the National Council of Teachers of English’s Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) program, which evaluated more than 400 student-produced magazines nationwide. Centered on the theme of “Life,” the issue features poetry, prose, visual art, and other creative work by students and faculty from the Cal Lutheran community. Produced during a turbulent year, the magazine stands as a compelling record of intellectual, emotional, and artistic resilience, highlighting our students’ sustained commitment to creativity and human flourishing. This national recognition underscores the exceptional talent and dedication within the English Department at a moment when the value of the humanities is increasingly questioned. Morning Glory affirms that creative expression endures, serving as a living archive of Cal Lutheran’s curiosity, imagination, and collective voice. Thank you to the NCTE for this honor!
