Want to be the 2018 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker?
We encourage you to submit your speech for consideration to be the 2018 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker. All completed submissions will be accepted through midnight on February 25th 2018. Final candidates will move on to live auditions during the week of March 12th-16th, 2018. Your speech should connect to the larger campus community (families, faculty & staff, graduating seniors), California Lutheran University’s mission, and your University journey. We are looking for original and insightful content. Timing is important. A 2-min speech is approximately 1-1.5, double spaced, 12 pt. font.

Prompt: How have your experiences at Cal Lutheran helped you on your journey toward discovering or strengthening your purpose and living a meaningful and impactful life?
Your submission will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- This speech was original and insightful.
- The tone, content, and organization of this speech inspired emotion (enthusiasm, pride, thoughtfulness) from its audience.
- This speech would be received well by families, faculty & staff, and graduating seniors.
- This speech effectively reflects the students’ perception of how CLU’s mission will help them live a meaningful and impactful life.
- Written Speech
Final candidates will be asked to submit a LinkedIn quality photo before the live auditions.
