#1 #freshsqueezed OJ vs #3 G'Looks G'Looks 65-58 Coming out of the gates, it was #freshsqueezed OJ controlling the pace, but after a few minutes, Matt Somers and Jimmy Bankson decided to turn it on. G'Looks raced out to a 31-26 lead at the half, and Somers finished with a game-high 20 points. Unfortunately, captain Dylan Hedberg couldn't get the OJ going, and they weren't able to catch up in the second half. It is sad that these two IM hall of fame teams won't be playing in the upcoming years, but hey, what a ride guys. Am I right? Anyways, congrats, G'Looks, I think you're going to like the shirts this year.

#1 No Shirseys vs #2 Shotguns N'Gbs Shotguns N'Gbs 55-51 Instant classic. Shotguns N'Gbs got their revenge from a few weeks ago, overcoming a halftime deficit and taking control in the final minutes of the game. Ryan Bill had a 13 point, 16 rebound performance, and Matt Hart had 15 and 10. My guy Matt Jorgensen also added some valuable minutes off of the bench. Like all amazing things (Uconn's women's basketball winning 111 straight, DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak, Wooden's 88 game winning streak), No Shirseys' 6-game winning streak run had to come to an end. Eli Peters went out with a bang, dropping 24 points. Can this be a rivalry for a few more years to come? đŸ‘€ đŸ‘€ đŸ‘€

#2 808's & Fastbreaks vs #3 G'Looks G'Looks 101-93 It was an unfortunate turn of events for 808's & Fastbreaks, but after about 1,000 texts sent between the captains trying to reschedule, the game had to be played. Benedict Carandang had 46 points in the loss, meanwhile G'Looks had 6 players in double figures. They'll look to keep the hot hand vs #freshsqueezed OJ in the championship.

#4 Semi-Average vs #5 Cal Lit Cal Lit 64-53 After one of the better IM games this season, you would think that their playoff matchup would have been just as insanely good. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. Here's a lesson for next year Semi-Average, consider trading for Josh and Russell. ÂŻ\_(ツ)_/ÂŻ
#3 B. Lingels vs #6 Long 2s Long 2s 65-57  When Brian Unlu gets hot.. well, he can go for 30. And he did. William Parquette dropped 19, and Ryan Heiligenthal went for 13 and 12. But let's not forget about Dagem Getahun and his 1 point performance.

Semifinal Matchups Winner Score Description
#1 No Shirseys vs #5 Cal Lit No Shirseys 72-54 This generation has now seen five insane scoring performances: Kobe dropping 81, Klay going for 37 in a quarter and 60 in 3 quarters, Devin Booker going for 70, and now Eli Peters dropping 43.
#2 Shotguns N'Gbs vs #6 Long 2s Shotguns N'Gbs 81-77 I can't say I didn't call this but Long 2s definitely made a run during these playoffs. Hats off to them for making this game so close in the second leg of a back to back, but Shotguns N'Gbs will get their shot at revenge this upcoming Wednesday against No Shirseys.
RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION - WEEK 6
1 #freshsqueezed OJ 6-0 Well at least they saved #10 Fish Out Of Water some their dignity by only winning by 18. Curtis Opsahl dropped a mediocre at best, 43 point, 12 rebound performance. They ended their regular season at the top of the standings, as they await the winner of #2 808's & Fastbreaks and #3 G'Looks.
2 808's and Fastbreaks 5-1 A performance next week against #3 G'Looks similar to their single digit victory against #6 B. Lingels isn't going to cut it. All-Star Dean Hendrix had a team-high 19 points in the victory.
3 G'Looks 5-1 G'Looks got some much needed rest before they begin their run at the championship. They somehow worked it out with #9 Long 2s to have them forfeit.
4 No Shirseys 5-1 If No Shirseys and #5 Shotguns N'Gbs can make it to the finals, we should all be in for an instant classic. That 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 punch of No Shirseys was just too much to handle.
5 Shotguns N'Gbs 3-3 After having this game canceled earlier this season, Shotguns N'Gbs went out to prove they were the best second-tier team. Unfortunately, they ran into the real best average team out there in #4 No Shirseys, falling 62-57.
6 B. Lingels 2-4 B. Lingels played a surprisingly close one with #2 808's & Fastbreaks, only falling by 9. I wonder how much they paid Wolfgang Wood to not show up. We'll see if they pay off all of Long 2s to not show up for their second consecutive week.
7 Cal Lit 1-4-1 Cal Lit blew a 16 point halftime lead.
8 Semi-Average 1-4-1 Just when I thought Semi-Average was dipping below their name, they got right back to its level. Their game with Cal Lit ended in a tie, despite Dylan Kruger and the crowd begging for OT. It was only right that these rivals became a first round matchup.
9 Long 2s 1-5 Looks like Long 2s knows something we don't. They decided not to show up to their season finale against #3 G'Looks. They'll face #6 B. Lingels in the first round on Wednesday with their new-look, Dagem-based offense.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-6 Wednesday marked the end of the road for Fish Out Of Water. They went out swinging against #freshsqueezed OJ, as Matthew Fong dropped a career high 16 points to go with 15 rebounds, Hans Cole poured in 12, and All-Star Connor Hauer scored 11 points. FOOW, if you guys want to play pickup with the Giraffes, I think we can set that up.
All Star Game

The Men’s League game was everything you would want out of an All-Star game. There were dunks, long three balls, no look passes, and even a 12 point comeback victory for Team Lingelbach, as he swept Team Cruz with a 83-72 victory. Early on, it was Eli Peters who put Team Lingelbach up 7-0 to start the game. He battled with Team Cruz’s Benedict Carandang, who finished with 18 points. However, it was Nelson Pyle’s constant contributions throughout the game and Tyler Shimamoto’s late game takeover that did it for Team Lingelbach. They finished with 18 and 20, respectively. Dean Hendrix dropped in 13 points, and Jimmy Bankson scored 12 for Team Cruz.

RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION - WEEK 5
1 #freshsqueezed OJ 5-0 Well yeah, #freshsqueezed OJ put up 100+ points, yeah they won by 30, yeah 5 out of their 6 scorers hit double figures, and yeah, they’re still #1 in the power rankings, but what you guys aren’t talking about is that Peyton Cochrane had an impressive statline of 15 boards.. And that’s pretty much it.
2 808's and Fastbreaks 4-1 808s & Fastbreaks is hitting their stride at the right time. Tye Herod had 30 and 10, Dejon Rothschild had 23 and 10, and triple-double machine Wolfgang Wood had 24, 23, and 11. And oh yeah, Dean and Benedict, welcome to the winning All-Star team.
3 G'Looks 4-1 Throughout the game, Anthony Phillips reminded us of how he was snubbed of an All-Star nod. He came out hot, leading the team in scoring with 17 points, to go along with 12 rebounds. This was enough to earn Team Cruz’s number one overall selection in the Co-Ed All-Star draft. You’re welcome, Anthony.
4 No Shirseys 4-1 No Shirseys earned themselves a first round bye, holding Semi-Average to 31 points. Point Forward Kishon Sanders went out and said before this game that he was going to get 50 assists. He finished with 5.
5 Shotguns N'Gbs 3-2 The team finally got on Matthew Hart’s level, with 5 players outscoring him this time around. The real question is, will they beat #4 No Shirseys after the All-Star Break in a potential championship preview??
6 B. Lingels 2-3 Man, the schedule makers did not do B. Lingels any favors. They’ve had to play the truly elite teams, of #3 G’Looks and #1 #freshsqueezed OJ, and of course, #4 No Shirseys. They took a hard fought L against #5 Shotguns N’Gbs, despite Alek Mata dropping 23, and next week they’ll face #2 808s & Fastbreaks.
7 Cal Lit 1-4 The bad news? Cal Lit took a 44 point L to #2 808s & Fastbreaks. The good news? Joshua Parafina had himself a 13 point, 10 rebound double double. More good news? Josh got drafted by Team Cruz for the All-Star Game.
8 Long 2s 1-4 I can’t lie, I know Long 2s will make a run when it comes to these last few weeks. All the makes of a good team, but just not the right strategy I guess. I say, get the ball to Dagem.
9 Semi-Average 1-4 Talk about this one at Spring Ball all you want guys, but the young calf couldn’t hang with the old bull in their loss to #4 No Shirseys. Drake Paretti and Rikiya Satoh will try to learn their ways as they hit the break and hang out at All-Star Week.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-5 It’s alright guys, we’ve all been there before. Just remember, the Giraffes, who went 0-10 last year, lost to a very similar G’Looks team last year just as bad. I’d pay good money to see the Giraffes and Fish Out of Water square off.
RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION - WEEK 4
1 #freshsqueezed OJ 4-0 When you have Curtis Opsahl dropping 30 and 10 every week, your team is probably gonna stay at #1 in the power rankings. Dylan Hedberg with 0 though?
2 808's and Fastbreaks 3-1 All I’m saying is, 808s & Fastbreaks had three players with 21+ point performances... And then add First Team All-SCIAC Forward Wolfgang Wood, who dropped 24 points to go with 17 rebounds and 13 assists.
3 G'Looks 3-1 G’Looks made it a mission to hit 100 points this week, even calling all three of their timeouts in the final minute to do it! It’s a lame strategy some might say. But still, Jacob Dawe had 28 points, and Jimmy Bankson had 25 points to go with 18 rebounds.
4 No Shirseys 3-1 No Eli Peters = No No Shirseys. 36 points to lead the squad in their comeback victory over #8 Long 2s. No Shirseys might find themselves as a #1 seed in the playoffs if they can keep this absolute dominance up, but I can’t see any threats to them.
5 Shotguns N'Gbs 2-2 Remember that scene in “Kicking and Screaming” where the kids cut up meat before their game and showed up to the field covered in blood and made the other team forfeit out of fear because a kid “forgot his socks”? Well, some of Shotguns N’Gbs decided to forget their socks when they heard they’d be playing #2 808s & Fastbreaks. My guy Matt Jorgensen did go for double figures, though.
6 B. Lingels 2-2 Boy, if B. Lingels would have given #10 FOOW their first win, I don’t think Brett Lingelbach would have shown up to office hours for the next few weeks. Btw, check out his Co-Ed power rankings when he sends them out!
7 Cal Lit 1-3 Joshua Parafina is gonna need some help to go along with his weekly 20 point performances if Cal Lit wants to contend for a championship this year. Russell Hernandez, where are you?
8 Long 2s 1-3 Between Brian Unlu (18 points), Ryan Heiligenthal (20 points, 15 boards), and William Parquette (17 points), some long 3s were definitely hit. However, not nearly enough were hit to limit the wrath of #4 No Shirseys.
9 Semi-Average 1-3 Jakar Oriseh finally decided to show up, dropping in 18 points, but the real story here is Rikiya Satoh. Without his performance, Their score would have been doubled, as they fell to #3 G’Looks 100-52.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-4 The boys from FOOW finally figured out that putting the ball in the hoop possession after possession might lead to a win. Unfortunately, they only employed this strategy for the first half.
RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION - WEEK 3
1 #freshsqueezed OJ 3-0 I finally got far enough in MyCareer to figure out what this name references. Curtis Opsahl must have dropped some serious cash on VC this week, dropping 32 points to go with 12 boards in their win over #4 Shotguns N’Gbs.
2 808's and Fastbreaks 2-1 I’m not even sure where to begin when writing about a 79-point W, therefore I won’t. Except for the fact that Dejon Rothschild had 26 points and 20 rebounds and was only the third leading scorer for the squad.
3 G'Looks 2-1 Jimmy, Shimo, Bangout, Brett, Justin, Anthony
and Adrian and Jacob?? This team put up 99 points and they weren’t even at full strength.
4 Shotguns N'GBs 2-1 The whole team should have been on Matt Hart’s level, as he dropped 34 points and to go with 20 rebounds. They’ll look to regroup against #2 808s & Fastbreaks on Wednesday night.
5 No Shirseys 2-1 No Shirseys put the clamps on in the second half. They overcame a 21 point second half deficit against #6 Cal Lit, behind the return of Eli Peters and his 28 point debut.
6 Cal Lit 1-2 Cal Lit was definitely lit đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„ to start their game against #5 No Shirseys, but not even a 30 point performance from Russell Hernandez and a 20 point, 10 rebound game from Joshua Parafina could stop the absolute dominance of #5 No Shirseys.
7 B. Lingels 1-2 *See #3 G’Looks.
8 Long 2s 1-2 About time for Long 2s to get their first W. It must have been the Kobe shirt William Parquette was wearing pre-game that did it. They’ll face this league’s version of the Monstars next week in #5 No Shirseys.
9 Semi-Average 1-2 Living up to the name I see.. Jakar, Ketcher, Will, and Ricky: quit loafing and get your team another W.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-3 I’m not even sure where to begin when writing about a 79-point L either, but If you’re trying to tank for Lonzo Ball, you could make it at least a little less obvious.
RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION - WEEK 2
1 #freshsqueezed OJ 2-0 #freshsqueezed OJ made the jump to the top spot with a 73-56 win over #5 B. Lingels. Nelson Pyle and Curtis Opsahl both dropped double-doubles with 28 points and 11 rebounds and 23 points and 12 rebounds, respectively.
2 Shotguns N’Gbs 2-0 With an improving roster week by week, Shotguns N’Gbs was able to take down then-#1 Semi-Average 65-54. Justin Freeman led the team with 15 points and 8 boards. Coby de Lavega chimed in 12. Next week, they’ll put their undefeated record on the line as they face #3 No Shirseys in what should be a  barnburner.
3 808s and Fastbreaks 1-1 Christmas came really early this year, with the game of the year coming in Week 2! 808s & Fastbreaks left Soiland with the W against #4 G’Looks 66-63. MVP candidate Benedict Carandang led the way with 22 points, and Dean Hendrix followed with 15.
4 G'Looks 1-1 G’Looks took the lead late in their instant classic against #3 808s and Fastbreaks, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Jimmy Bankson had 15 points and 12 boards, Anthony Phillips added 15 points, and Tyler Shimamoto had 13 points.
5 B. Lingels 1-1 It was close in the beginning, but B. Lingels couldn’t hang with #1 #freshsqueezed OJ’s pace. Brett Lingelbach had himself a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, and Coleman Fleitz and Justin Gilbert both added 13.
6 No Shirseys 1-1 No Shirseys found their rhythm against #10 FOOW with four players getting into double figures. Joey Savala led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Josh Cruz had 14 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds. They’ll look to knock off #2 Shotguns N’Gbs next week.
7 Cal Lit 1-1 If G’Looks vs 808s and Fastbreaks didn’t do it for you, then Cal Lit vs #8 Long 2s had to have. With under 10 seconds left, Cal Lit came away with a steal and layup to put the dagger into Long 2s’ hearts. They secured the win 62-59. Joshua Parafina had 20 points, and Drew Santiago followed with 15 points and 14 boards.
8 Long 2s 0-2 Long 2s came soooo close to securing their first win of 2017, but lost to #7 Cal Lit in a game that went down to the wire. Brian Unlu had a game-high 27 points, followed by Nodirkhon Mamatov and William Parquette who both had 11.
9 Semi-Average 1-1 Down goes #1! Down goes #1! The reign of semi-average was cut short in their loss to #2 Shotguns N’Gbs. Drake Paretti and Rikiya Satoh dropped 12 apiece. They’ll look to bounce back next week as they face #6 Cal Lit.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-2 Apparently Matthew Fong switching from playing one week to coaching in a navy blue two piece suit the next wasn’t the right formula for FOOW to get their first W. They fell to #6 No Shirseys. Their superstar George Lundgren had 19 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
RANK TEAM NAME RECORD DESCRIPTION -WEEK 1
1 Semi-Average 1-0 Never would I have thought that I’d be writing about Semi-Average being #1 in the power rankings.. But hey, congrats boys. Rikiya Satoh dropped 22 points to go with 8 boards, and captain Jakar Oriseh followed with 12 points in the win over #10 Fish Out Of Water.
2 #freshsqueezed OJ 1-0 Statement win but I mean.. You probably shouldn’t be losing when the other team has four players. #freshsqueezed OJ defeated #9 808’s & Fastbreaks 109-85 after a second half surge led by Curtis Opsahl (36 points, 21 rebounds) and Dylan Hedberg (29 points).
3 G'Looks 1-0 Last year’s runner up G’Looks returned to the IM circuit with a 84-71 win over #8 Cal Lit. Tyler Shimamoto dropped the first triple-double of the year with 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 points. Jimmy Bankson had 18 and 10, and Matt Somers scored a game high 25 points.
4 B. Lingels 1-0 The roommate chemistry was real for B. Lingels as they hung on for a 50-44 win over #7 No Shirseys. In the game of the week, Brett Lingelbach led the way with 12 points, followed by Kevin Blank and Coleman Fleitz with 10 each.
5 Shotguns N’Gbs 1-0 In a Patriot-esque comeback effort, Shotguns N’ Gbs defeated #6 Long 2s 58-52. Matt Hart led the squad with 17 points, and Brooks White followed with 12. The last team to get into the men’s league will look to continue to prove themselves against #1 Semi-Average next week.
6 Long 2s 0-1 Blowing big leads is an overused joke but being up 19 points in the second half only to lose.. Come on now guys, 4 on 5 is never a good strategy. William Parquette led the way with 26 points, and Ryan Heiligenthal dropped 13 with 16 boards.
7 No Shirseys 0-1 No Shirseys couldn’t complete the comeback, falling to #4 B. Lingels. The bright spot was Richard Caceres who had a 15 point, 8 rebound, 7 steal IM debut. They’ll look to bounce back next week vs #10 FOOW.
8 Cal Lit 0-1 Cal Lit managed to keep it close against #3 G’Looks, but in the end they fell 84-71. The Splash Bros of Russell Hernandez and Joshua Parafina began their early co-MVP campaign with 16 points and 10 boards, and 17 points, respectively.
9 808’s & Fastbreaks 0-1 In a rather uneventful opening night matchup, 808’s took the L #2 to #freshsqueezed OJ. Benedict Carandang turned some heads with a 24 point, 10 rebound performance. Dean Hendrix followed with 22 and 10. They’ll look to redeem themselves next week in a 9:00 PM PST primetime slot against #3 G’Looks.
10 Fish Out Of Water 0-1 The Water Polo turned Basketball Team might want to hop back in the pool and get some shots up. They took the L to #1 Semi-Average, after continuous half court heaves. George Lundgren did drop 24 points in the loss.
