Off-Campus Housing
Local Hotel Options
The Office of Undergraduate Admission maintains an updated listing of local hotels, typically within a 15 mile radius of campus. Several hotels offer a discount if you call the hotel and reference that you need a booking under the "CLU Friends and Family Rate". The CLU partner hotels may change but usually include: Best Western Thousand Oaks Inn; Westlake Village Inn; Hyatt Regency Westlake; and Palm Garden Hotel.
Off-Campus Housing
For students who are eligible to live off-campus per the Cal Lutheran Residency Policy:
When selecting a housing option for your studies and/or work at Cal Lutheran, please keep in mind the public transportation in Ventura County is somewhat limited. If you do not plan on purchasing a car, then we recommend you try and live within a five mile radius of campus, or budget in advance for private car transport fees (e.g., Lyft, Uber, etc.).
Both landlords and tenants have rights and responsibilities. Knowing these will assist you with your living arrangement. Please make sure to learn about your rights and responsibilities by reviewing the California Tenant's and Landlord's guide from the California Department of Real Estate.
