Letter from the President

President Chris Kimball

In keeping with our mission to "educate leaders for a global society," Cal Lutheran is committed to international education and providing students with an exciting variety of study abroad opportunities.

Cal Lutheran's presence abroad continues to grow. All over the world, Cal Lutheran students are taking challenging course, gaining valuable work experience through internships, and volunteering in service to others. They are experiencing life in another culture and learning to adapt to new systems.

Awareness of international issues and the ability to work across cultural boundaries are quickly becoming job requirements in today's global economy and essential components of a university education. We also recognize that the study abroad experience strengthens character and deepens commitment to service and justice, two other vital parts of our missions.

Upon their return to campus, our study abroad students bring new perspectives both inside and outside of the classroom thereby enriching our community. As global citizens, they are well prepared to be successful in the rest of their college career and in their life and work after Cal Lutheran.
