Helping nonprofit leaders do better at doing good

Meet Volunteer, Nancy Mayerson

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we are spotlighting one of our many gracious volunteers, Nancy is a member of our Center's Advisory Board, and serves as chair of our Marketing & Outreach Committee; and also serves board chair at the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme.

Why Do You Volunteer?

"Volunteering is a simple way to create powerful, positive outcomes in the community. For me, it’s a deeply personal experience inspired by my love for my daughters and family.

Sometimes it’s hard work, but always joyful to be involved with a cause and help transform other people’s lives who are less fortunate, or help build the capacity of an organization.

Others find their joy helping the environment or providing access to the arts or whatever.  The point is, find your joy and give, whether it’s time, treasure or talent. It’s a most rewarding experience that creates a legacy that transcends family and contributes to the greater good."
