French Program: Ariana Godinez '24
Ariana Godinez (She/Her/Hers) is a third year student here at Cal Lutheran. She is majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and minoring in French. She will be graduating in the Spring of 2024. Feel free to contact her at any time!
Hobbies/Interests: She enjoys swimming, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with her two younger sisters and her puppy chihuahua!
Campus Involvement: She is the President of the Francophone Club and the Department Assistant for the French Program. This is her first year as the DA for the French Program.
Future Plans: After graduation, Ariana plans on attending graduate school to obtain her MBA. She also plans on doing lots of traveling and visiting many different countries.
French Program: Yassine Kefi '25
Yassine (He/Him/His) is an international student from Tunisia. This is his first year as a DA for the French Department. He is a Chemistry Major and a French Minor. He graduates in 2025. He speaks fluent Arabic and French and partially speaks Spanish.
Hobbies/Interests: He loves making short films, playing the piano and making music. He is also a Potterhead -short for a Harry Potter films lover.
Campus Involvement: He believes that he is able to be a voice for the North African culture in Cal Lutheran and add the Tunisian spice to our student body. He plans to serve as a Student Intern for both Civic Engagement and Leadership and the Center for Global Engagement for the 2022/2023 academic year, while also being International Representative in ASCLUG Programs Board.
Future Plans: After graduation, Yassine plans on doing research on Astrochemistry: the chemistry of celestial bodies and interstellar space.
German Program: Leilani Horowitz '23
Leilani (she/they) has been a German DA since Fall 2020. She is a senior double majoring in German and Globals Studies with a minor in Dance. She is always open to help with any questions, just sne dher an email.
Hobbies/Interests: Going to museums, dancing, travelling, going to the beach, and spending time with family
Campus Involvement: Theater and dance department performances, rugby club
Future Plans: Visit Germany (especially Weimar); grad school for German studies; work in foreign intelligence, foreign relations, or teaching German
Spanish Program: Martha Juarez '23
Martha Juarez (She/Her/Hers) is a fourth-year student here at Cal Lutheran majoring in Exercise Science and Spanish. This is her first year as a DA but she has been a Spanish tutor since the Fall of 2020.
Hobbies/Interests: She enjoys weightlifting as well as yoga. Soon she hopes to pick up some more artistic hobbies such as dancing and ceramics.
Campus Involvement: She is Co-Vice President of LASO and Vice-President of the Languages and Cultures Club. She hopes to start a weightlifting club for women and the LGBTQ+ community this 2023 Spring semester.
Future Plans: Upon graduating in May 2023 she will be taking a gap year to focus on preparation for PT school entry. She hopes to fill this time with studying for the GRE as well as completing clinical hours.
Spanish Program: Marisol Rodriguez '24
Marisol (she/her/hers/ella) has been a DA since Spring 2021. She is a junior majoring in both Liberal Studies in Education and Spanish. Feel free to contact her with any questions or if you need assistance in general!
Hobbies/Interests: Reading, painting with watercolors or sketching, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and visiting new places!
Campus Involvement: Junior Representative for CLU Club Teach
Future Plans: Become an elementary school teacher and teach in dual language and bilingual classrooms. Visit Europe (specifically Spain and Italy)!
