ELD Workshop for the 6th-12th Grades

Strengthening Comprehensive Classroom Instruction for English Language Learners

The focus of this two-day workshop is to help middle and high school teachers develop instructional learning experiences that stimulate intellectually rich and developmentally appropriate skills to foster higher levels of English proficiency for powerful and effective, 21st century education.

Institute Outcomes

  • Explore ways to use the CA ELD standards for both Integrated and Designated ELD instruction
  • Provides teachers with research-based strategies aligned with CA Common Core State Standards and the CA ELA/ELD Framework to increase EL access, engagement, and achievement across content areas
  • Increases 21st century educational principles (creativity, critical thinking, and communication) by leveraging technology into daily ELL instructional practice

Scheduled Dates: TBD

This two-day training is typically held from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at California Lutheran University, when in person. Attendance is required on both days. Teams from school sites are encouraged to attend together.
