Paintings by Cyn McCurry

Closing reception: Thursday, Oct. 25, 7 p.m.

Paintings by Cyn McCurry

A self-educated artist, Cyn McCurry has adopted classic techniques as her own, deftly telling the tale of a modern woman in the dialect of another time. She works intuitively, approaching her canvas without preconceptions, allowing the image to emerge and evolve spontaneously, winding together strands of emotion and experience into her luminous compositions.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, McCurry currently lives and paints close to her home town. Her paintings, commissioned portraits and murals hang in private collections nationwide.

McCurry will spend October as a guest of the University using the Kwan Fong gallery as her studio. Visitors are invited to watch her work. Opening and closing receptions will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.

Admission is free. The Kwan Fong Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
