Founders Day Concert
University Choir and Symphony
The University Symphony will perform one of the most popular and revolutionary symphonic works from the Classical Period, Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. As a complete contrast, the Symphony also performs Charles Ives' The Unanswered Question, a musical depiction of the silences of the Druids, the perennial question of existence and the invisible answer. Daniel Geeting conducts.
Following intermission and in keeping with tradition, the CLU Choral Ensembles will present an eclectic program of exciting and unusual works. The CLU Choir will preview some of the music it will perform at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City in March. Wyant Morton conducts.
Donations will be accepted.
