Habitat Build

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from Ventura County and the world, making decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat builds are a great way to volunteer your time on the weekend! You will be working alongside the family recieving the house as well as meeting other volunteers.

Meet in the SUB at 8 a.m. for check-in and travel to work site in Oxnard. Lunch is provided for volunteers at noon, and the work day is finished by 4 p.m.

Habitat suggests wearing sturdy, closed-toed shoes and work clothes. Bring suscreen, hat, sunglasses and work gloves. No prior experience or training is needed. Volunteers will be trained on-site and will never be asked to do anything with which they are uncomfortable (work on the roof, or operate power tools).

Come learn a new skill and meet new people!
