The Tournees Festival: Un Long dimanche de fiancailles (2004)

Un Long dimanche de fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement) (2004) is set in France near the end of World War I in the deadly trenches of the Somme, in the gilded Parisian halls of power, and in the modest home of an indomitable provincial girl who is searching for her missing fiancé. It is an investigation into the arbitrary nature of secrecy, the absurdity of war and the enduring passion, intuition and tenacity of the human heart.

Admission is free. Film is shown with English subtitles.

The Tournées Festival: New French Films on the CLU Campus was made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Ministry of Culture (CNC). The Festival is sponsored by the Florence Gould Foundation, the Grand Marnier Foundation, highbrow entertainment, agnès b., and the Franco-American Cultural Fund.
