Mission: Rwanda
Fundraiser for Victims of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide
An all-day fundraiser for Mission: Rwanda will be held at Stuft Pizza in Thousand Oaks. The purpose of Mission: Rwanda is to support the Rwandan people still struggling from the devastating effects of the genocide and to help finance a May 2009 trip to Rwanda by two CLU students who will spend six weeks volunteering in various sectors of Solace Ministries, a local organization located in the capital city of Kigali. Their work will include patient care in Solace’s medical clinic(s), participation in counseling services and helping with educational programs, as well as assistance in community development projects. Additionally, they will visit communities of widows and orphans bringing food, clothing, hygienic items and livestock to provide much needed relief.
Stuft Pizza, located at 398 N. Moorpark Road, is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please mention the Rwanda mission when you give your order. Flyers will be available at various sites on campus but will not need to be shown at the restaurant.
