Women in Music: Making Change Happen

Prominent women in the music industry discuss their diverse careers and share views on the changing face of the industry and the growing presence of women in leading roles. The panelists’ unique stories cover a variety of career options and perspectives on how to succeed in the digital music age. Spotlighting a trend toward greater opportunity, the event aims to inspire young women with a passion for music.

Panelists include Miriam Cutler, Emmy-nominated film and television composer (RBG; Love, Gilda); Lili Haydn, Grammy-winning rock violinist, vocalist, recording artist, composer; Sarah Kovacs, agent at Kraft-Engel Management; Diana LaPointe, vice president, film and TV music, Sony Music Entertainment; Doreen Ringer-Ross, vice president, creative – film, TV and visual media, BMI; and Angie Rubin, music editor (Pitch Perfect, Fifty Shades of GreyMamma Mia 2, Grosse Pointe Blank). Peter Gordon, director of new initiatives–music industry at Cal Lutheran, will moderate.

Admission is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A reception follows the discussion.
