Snapshot: India

India 101, Paul Hanson, Ph.D.

Snapshot: India

Each year, the Freshman Year Experience assigns a work of literature to the incoming freshman class to introduce students to their first taste of academic life at the University. This year the text is Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya. The novel examines India in the years immediately after it achieved independence from Great Britain. Students will further examine this year's theme of Snapshot: India through lectures and musical performances, which the public is welcome to attend.

Dr. Paul Hanson, twice a Fulbright Scholar in India and Chair of the CLU History Department, will introduce this year's study of India with a slide presentation and historical snapshot of the subcontinent.

Admission is free.
