CERF Present Research to Mexican Presidential Candidate

On September 28, Matthew Fienup (Executive Director, Center for Economic Research and Forecasting) and Dan Hamilton (Director of Economics at the Center for Economic Research and Forecasting and Program Director, MS in Quantitative Economics) had a unique opportunity to present their latest research on the Latino GDP with Mexican presidential candidate Xóchitl Galvez and her top economic advisor (Ildefonso) Guajardo Villareal who also served as Mexico's Minister of the Economy until 2018 and as chief negotiator for the USMCA. After the presentation in this private meeting, Mrs. Galvez, Mr. Villareal engaged in a lively discussion with Matthew Fienup, Dan Hamilton and their collaborators, Prof. David Hayes-Bautista and Paul Hsu of UCLA. After the event, Xóchitl also tweeted a quote from the report on her account.
