Sports Management goes Sustainability

Thanks to the exceptionally hard and creative work of program director Mark Orlando, our Sports Management major's annual Sustainable Development Goals Competition was an immense success. More than 150 attendees, including 15 professional executives from the Los Angeles Rams, NBA 2K, Netflix Games, Legends, UCLA Athletics, and others were in attendance at the event on December 2nd. Judges had a hard time selecting the winners but ultimately the following student teams succeeded: 1st Place - Breaking Cycles, Building Futures (David Da Silva, Ian Thomas, and Joseph Papa), 2nd Place - Breaking Barriers in Youth Golf: Access, Equity, and Opportunity in Los Angeles (Brooke Alderson and Jacob Fox), 3rd Place - L.A. Rise and Swing (Milan Bugarin and Ryan Farrel), and Zuma Foundation Consultancy Project Winner (Zuma Triathlon) were students Ira Silverberg, Marina Markrud, Miles Morton, Christopher Rios, and Jackson Weiderman. Congratulations to all of them and many thanks to faculty members Adriana Sekulovic and Edward Egros as well as all our hard-working staff who supported the event!
