Accounting Students Meet Former IRS Commissioner
CLU Accounting students recently met former IRS Commissioner. Thanks to program director Geoffrey Plourde, Accounting students Ryan Holt, Elsa Klubberud, Onofre Pulido, Istiaq Rahman, and Nathan Sakhai were invited to a meeting of the California Society of Enrolled Agents (www.csea.org) to hear a presentation from IRS Local Taxpayer Advocate Luis Tejeda, CPA about the current state of the IRS. Charles Rettig, the 49th Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, also came to the presentation to share insights from his recent term at the helm of the agency. Students were able to meet Commissioner Rettig for a picture before the presentation and the Commissioner stayed behind to talk to the students and give them career and life advice.
