Women in Business went to Boston

From December 1-4, our Women in Business Club went on a field trip to Boston. Thanks to Kelly Kimball, MBA Adjunct Professor, donor, and member of the Steve Dorfman Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship advisory council, we were able to visit Harvard University's Engineering School for a tour of it's incubator ("The Grid") and discussions with Paul Hayre, its Executive Director. Following was a visit of Harvard Business School for a lecture by Harvard professor Debi Kleiman author of "First Pitch", a visit to Harvard's university store (of course...), and a dinner at 'Quin, a private club. On day 2, thanks to faculty colleague Tracy Nickl, students were able to visit the corporate headquarter of Dunkin Donuts for a tour of the facility (incl. Dunkin's test kitchen) and discussions with Brand Manager Kelsey Kennedy. The afternoon of the second day was spent with Cal Lutheran Accounting alumna Christine Weyers at Deloitte's downtown Boston offices. The visit was certainly inspirational and educational and will be remembered for a long time!
